FRITZ!Powerline 510E – Service - Knowledge Base
Using FRITZ!Powerline in different phases of the power supply
Powerline connections are also possible if you use FRITZ!Powerline adapters in different phases (phase conductors) of the of the home's power supply.
FRITZ!Powerline transmits data to the electrical wiring as a high-frequency signal. This results in "crosstalk" from one phase to the other as soon as the phase conductors run parallel over a distance of at least 0.5 meters. Since this is the case in almost all buildings, FRITZ!Powerline can also be used virtually loss-free in different phases.
However, you can only achieve the best data throughput if you use FRITZ!Powerline within the same phase.
