Determining the FRITZ!Box's BSSID
The BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) serves to unambiguously identify a wireless router in a wireless network (WiFi). Some applications for establishing wireless connections require you to enter the FRITZ!Box's BSSID when configuring a wireless connection to the FRITZ!Box.
1 Determining the FRITZ!Box's wireless MAC address
The BSSID is the MAC address at which wireless devices can reach the FRITZ!Box. Which MAC address you must enter depends on whether the 5 GHz frequency band or the 2.4 GHz frequency band is used to establish the wireless connection:
- Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
- Make note of the MAC address listed in the section "2.4-GHz frequency band" or "5-GHz frequency band". If the MAC address is not displayed, enable the Advanced View first.
