FRITZ!Box 6840 LTE – Service

Network devices are not visible over VPN connection

Computers, NAS systems, and other devices in a remote FRITZ!Box network are not visible (for example in the Windows Explorer under "Network") although an VPN connection is established.

1 Devices cannot be automatically displayed

As a rule, operating systems such as Windows or macOS cannot automatically detect and display computers and other devices in remote networks. The mechanisms used by operating systems to automatically detect devices and display their names only work within the local network (LAN), and therefore not in a VPN.

Note:If you would like to access shared files, you can contact the devices in the remote FRITZ!Box network through their IP addresses.
