1 Using WPS to set up the wireless connection

Connect your repeater and FRITZ!Box simply and safely at the touch of a button:

  1. Plug the repeater into an outlet near the FRITZ!Box and wait until the "Power" and "WLAN" LEDs on the repeater remain lit.
  2. Then, start the WPS function on the repeater.
    • If you are using a FRITZ!WLAN Repeater with a "WPS" button:
      • Push and hold down the "WPS" button for 6 seconds until the "WLAN" LED on the repeater starts to flash.

Important:Let go of the button as soon as the "WLAN" LED flashes. If you push the button too long, all of the LEDs will light up briefly and the factory settings are loaded.

    • If you are using a FRITZ!WLAN Repeater N/G:
      • Push the middle of the "Run WPS for the first time" icon on the LED display until the "WPS" icon starts to flash.
  3. Now push the "WLAN" button on the FRITZ!Box within 2 minutes. Hold down the button for at least 6 seconds until the "WLAN" LED on the FRITZ!Box begins to flash.

During the configuration procedure, the repeater takes on the password (and user name, if applicable) of the FRITZ!Box user interface if FRITZ!OS 6.30 or later is installed on the repeater and the FRITZ!Box. One or more LEDs indicating signal strength remain lit on the repeater once the configuration of the wireless connection between the repeater and the FRITZ!Box has been completed. You can then unplug the repeater and plug it in wherever you want. The repeater's settings remain intact even when it is unplugged.
