Setting up a USB printer connected to FRITZ!Box as a network printer

You can use a USB printer connected to the FRITZ!Box as a network printer with all computers, Android smartphones and tablets, as well as other devices in the home network.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • The USB printer must be able to receive data in RAW format (unidirectional RAW over TCP).

Note:Printers that require encapsulated or bidirectional data transmission (for example some GDI or LIDIL printers) cannot be used as network printers. The manufacturer can provide you with information on how the printer functions.

  • Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch) can only use printers that support Apple's AirPrint technology.

Important:Some of the settings described here are only displayed if the advanced view is enabled in the user interface.
