Only blank, white or incomplete page is displayed instead of the FRITZ!Box user interface
After entering fritz.box in the address bar of a web browser, only an incomplete or a blank, white page is displayed instead of the FRITZ!Box user interface.
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem persists.
1 Disabling Avira web protection
The following step is only necessary if you are using security software from Avira (for example Antivirus Pro):
- Disable Avira web protection or configure an exception for "fritz.box" in the web protection. The manufacturer can tell you when you can re-enable web protection or provide you with information on how to configure an exception for "fritz.box".
2 Clearing browsing data (cache)
On computers with Windows or macOS, clear the cache of the web browser:
- Google Chrome
- Click the button
(Customize and control Google Chrome) on the top right of Chrome.
- Click "More tools" and then "Clear browsing data...".
- Select "the beginning of time" in the "Clear browsing data" window.
- Select "Cookies and other site and plugin data" and "Cached images and files".
- Click "Clear browsing data".
- Click the button
- Mozilla Firefox
- Click the
(Open menu) button on the top right of Firefox.
- Click "Library" and then "History".
- In the history, click "Clear Recent History".
- Select "Everything" and click "Clear Now".
- Click the
- Microsoft Edge
- Click the button
(More actions) in the top right corner of Edge and then click "Settings".
- Click "Choose what to clear" under "Clear browsing data".
- Enable the option "Cached data and files" and click "Clear".
- Click the button
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Click the button
(Tools) on the top right of the Internet Explorer.
- Click "Internet Options" and then "General".
- Click the "Delete" button.
- Enable the option "Temporary Internet files" and click "Delete".
- Click the button
- Apple Safari
- Click "Safari" in Safari's menu bar and then click "Preferences".
- Click "Advanced" in the settings and enable the option "Show 'Develop' menu in menu bar".
- Click "Develop" in the menu bar and then click "Empty Caches".
- Click "Safari" in the menu bar and then click "Reset Safari".
- Click the "Reset" button in the next window.
3 Disabling extensions in the web browser
For testing purposes, disable all of the extensions installed for your web browser (for example NoScript, ScriptSafe) that block active contents such as JavaScript or iFrames:
- Google Chrome
- Click the button
(Customize and control Google Chrome) on the top right of Chrome.
- Click "More tools" and then "Extensions".
- Disable all of the installed extensions.
- Click the button
- Mozilla Firefox
- Click the
(Open menu) button on the top right of Firefox.
- Click "Add-ons" and then "Extensions".
- Disable all of the installed extensions.
- Click the
- Microsoft Edge
- No measures are required for Edge. Currently, Edge does not support extensions that block active contents.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Click the button
(Tools) on the top right of the Internet Explorer.
- Click "Manage add-ons".
- Click on an enabled extension and then on "Disable".
- Repeat this procedure for all enabled extensions and then click "Close".
- Click the button
